# API essentials

> The HTTP interface behind the dashboard and MCP tools.

All `/v1` requests use a workspace bearer token. JSON writes require `Content-Type: application/json`. IDs and revision numbers must come from current responses.

`queue` accepts `unanswered`, `attention` or `all`. Follow the returned `next` cursor using `after`; an empty filtered page can still have a next cursor. Ordering is by enquiry ID, not age.

Generate a draft with `{"enquiry_revision": 3, "intent": "business_information"}`. A generated draft contains `sources`, `review_flags` and, when lookups ran, `tool_evidence`. No email is sent by generation.

Configure a connection with `{"id":"workshop","name":"Workshop","endpoint":"https://provider.example/mcp","credential_ref":"workshop-readonly","enabled":true,"revision":0}`. Credentials are provisioned separately; this request never contains the bearer secret.

### Errors

* `400`: invalid input.
* `403`: missing permission or a human-only action.
* `404`: no matching record in this workspace.
* `409`: changed revision or review/delivery blocker. Read the current state before retrying.
* `503`: drafting, email setup or billing is not ready.
